Product Details

Produced from high-quality quarried rock, Type 1 Primary consists of a well-graded mixture of particles ranging from 0/32mm. This grading ensures the material interlocks effectively when compacted, minimising voids and providing a stable, non-frost susceptible sub-base.

Type 1 Primary is suitable for use beneath asphalt, concrete, shingle, or block paving, and is widely specified for adoptable highways, car parks, and structural foundations.

Unlike alternatives such as Scalpings or Type 2, Type 1 Primary meets the strict grading requirements of SHW 803 / CC 201 and BS EN 13285, ensuring consistent quality and compliance.
